Link Salad, Because I Got Nothing

A) Newt Gingrich, a man who never served a day in the military, once wrote that men "are little piglets" and can live in a ditch for thirty days. John Scalzi found that humorous.

B) Just a note that The United States government spends more on health care then the Canadian government. And that's not more per person who gets government health insurance, it's more per resident. And yet Canada covers all its citizens, and we don't.

C) A relic of the past -
guide books for the 'Negro motorist' in America.

D) An interesting concept for writers - plot without conflict.

E) Presented without comment - when taking multiple husbands made sense.

F) An evolutionary mystery: why do grandmothers exist?

The US government spends as much per head of population as the UK does too. The UK manages to cover 100% of the population with that much too. AND private insurance and private hospitals thrive in the UK too.
