Down at the Kennedy Spaceflight Center they had a setup like the old Coney Island beach cut-outs, where you and your sweetheart put your faces through openings and your picture is snapped.
In this case, there are two pressure-suited figures seated in a Lunar Rover parked on the lunar surface - and it's my wife Linda and myself, our smiling faces clearly visible through our suit visors!
That was a long time ago. I hope they still have it, but now it's probably done digitally with no physical mockup.
I always liked those brute-force solutions. Back in Surveyor days, to get the most bang for their buck they used fisheye lenses, but then what? Well, simple: You paper the inside of large hemispherical displays with printouts of the images! The distortion is reversed, and you have a large panoramic view.
